In order to improve efficiency and provide for the expansion of the burgeoning research programs in the field of robotics and computer science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), DF Gibson prepared a concept document studying the feasibility of consolidating departments related to the computer integrated manufacturing initiative on the campus.  This study resulted in a facility containing eleven divisions of the University, including Computer Integrated Manufacturing Engineering, Computer and Information Science, and Computer Services. The new 175,000 sf structure includes computer information technologies and manufacturing systems labs, classrooms, lecture halls, and faculty offices.
